Kai Toshiro (と白海翔 Toshiro Kai), otherwise known as Eclipse (エクリプス Ekuripusu), is a student of the first year class at Shiketsu High School. Toshiro had previously attended UA High School in Class 1-A and also later in General Studies, however, he was expelled for failing most of his classes. Toshiro has now upped his grades at Shiketsu, and is on course training to become a Pro Hero.

History
Toshiro Kai was born and raised in Katsukawa (勝川 Katsukawa), Japan. He was born as one in a quadruplet of four boys, to Liliya (リリーヤ Ririya) and Getsumei (月明 Getsumei) Toshiro (と白 Toshiro). Kai and his three brother, Keisuke (圭佑 Keisuke), Keiji (圭司 Keiji), and Kaiyo (開瑛 Kaiyo) were all born as happy, healthy children, however, upon receiving their quirks at the age of four, Kai faced severe medical complications. Because of the corrosive nature of his quirk, Kai's eyesight began rapidly deteriorating from the first time he ever used it.Upon realizing that Kai's quirk would continue to destroy his eyesight throughout his life, eventually rendering him completely blind, his parents began to desperately look someone who could help him. Throughout the next ten years of his life, Kai would be forced to visit tons of different doctors across the world, and undergo 48 different procedures in an attempt to fix his eyesight. During these ten years his mother, Liliya, would grow to be extremely protective over Kai. Doing things like never allowing Kai to do simple tasks on his own, homeschooling him instead of letting him attend public school with his brothers, and even refusing to let Kai out of the house unless absolutely necessary.Because, when growing up, Kai wasn't allowed to do most things that his brothers could do, he was never particularly close to any of them and was often outcast from the trio the other three had formed. His brothers had also taken up making fun of Kai because he was always being "babied" by their mother and took up most of both their parents time. In turn, Kai formed a strong distaste for his brothers out of anger and jealousy that they were allowed to do all the things he wasn't.

Around the time Kai turned 15, after over 40 failed surgeries and hundreds of rather unsuccessful Doctors visits, his parents finally gave up the idea that they would ever be able to find someone who could "fix him". With his parents attention finally shifted off of correcting his eyesight, Kai suddenly felt completely neglected. After turning 15, Kai all of the sudden began to struggle to get his parents to pay any attention to him at all. His parents began seeming like they were now tired of even dealing with Kai after the several years of fretting over him.Kai felt as if no one in his family ever had the time to even look in his direction, and after suffering the many years of his child of being treated like he was completely incapable, Kai made the spontaneous decision to apply for UA's hero course. He wanted to become a hero, as it was one of the most important careers in the world, to show his family he was capable of anything.After attending UA for his first year, Kai was determined as having a grade too low to pass into the next year and was given a second chance in UA's General Studies course. Because he had excelled in the heroics aspect of the course but failed to keep up with his written homework for the other classes, his teacher, Aizawa Shota said if he could pass the General studies course he would allow Kai to take the heroics course Class 2-A, in the following year.
Kai proceeded to flunk out of General studies within the first few months, resulting in him ultimately being expelled from UA. Too embarrassed to return home having failed, Kai decided to instead take a heroics class at Shiketsu, redoing his first year there having not have fully graduated from his first year at UA.

|| Lunar Energy ||Lunar Energy allows the user to absorb Moonlight and convert it into Energy. The energy the user produces allows them to gain special abilities, including heightened senses as well as greater speed, strength, and stamina.The user stores the energy in their body, and when activating their quirk they can extract the energy out of their skin in the form of a highly corrosive liquid named Lunar Acid. Lunar Acid is a mix of the user's blood, sweat, instilled with high amounts of energy. This "Acid" has the ability to melt almost any surface it comes in contact with because of the amount of pure energy it contains.When the user activates this quirk the Energy in their skin begins to glow in a process similar to most bioluminescent creatures. This causes the user to turn a glowing, blue color, similarly the sclera of the user's eyes will turn dark black because they begin to absorb all the light that comes in contact with them.The main weakness to this quirk is because of a failure caused by rapid mutation. Because The Acid the user creates is normally stored in their bloodstream, every part of their body must be immune its corrosive effects. However, Toshiro's eyes have failed to properly immunize themselves to the Acid he produces, thus causing his eyesight to be damaged the more he uses his quirk.||Hymenopterous Wings (𝘔𝘶𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯) ||
Toshiro inherited a useful mutation from his father in the form of two pairs of blue, membranous wings resembling that of a Hymenopterous insect. The wings are fully functional and allow the user to fly with great speed and direction. The only drawback is that the wings are extremely fragile and can easily be crushed by a person's hands alone. When the wings are crushed or destroyed they will fall off, however, they are capable of growing back in as quickly as 8 hours.

|| Kai's Suit ||Kai's hero suit is made up of a few very simple pieces. He wears a black shirt and a pair of black pants, both of which are specially designed to handle combat, made with tear resistant material and light padding to keep his body protected. He also wears a pair of black, combat boots which come up to his knees. Similar to his shirt and pants, his boots are also made to handle combat with tear resistant material, thick soles, and steel toes.|| Kai's Belt ||Kai wears a special pair of gloves which were designed by the Shiketsu Support team to aid him in using his quirk. The gloves are connected to his suit's Tube System which allows him to collect the acid he secretes from his hands and to also dispense the extra acid he collects and stores.|| Tube System ||Built into the material of Kai's suit are a multitude of small wire like tubes which run from his feet, torso, hands, arms, and legs to a tank attached to his leg. These tubes have several openings where they are taped to his skin, these patches soak up the acid Kai makes and transports it to the tank for storage. Kai is then able to reuse the acid by dispensing it out of the tubes on his gloves.

Toshiro is a young man with a tall, muscular build and long, slender limbs. His eyes are a foggy, pale blue color with his right eye being lighter than the other, and are shaped very narrow, often looking squinted or half-lided because most lights hurt his eyes. His skin is very pale, almost white in completion with warm, pink undertones, and an abundance of light brown freckles scattered across his face and shoulders. His hair is cut short, with a dark blue undercut and a soft white tuft of hair on top. The texture of his hair is very fluffy and very soft, with light waves and a few stray curls scattered about.At Shiketsu, Toshiro wears the standard issued uniform of a Navy jacket and pants, with the school's iconic Navy and gold cap. However, most often than not Toshiro prefers to ditch the Navy jacket to instead wear only the white button up underneath. His uniform only differs slightly where he wears a black athletic sleeve on his left arm, to cover his tattoo out of respect for the schools traditional and modest policies.Toshiro doesn't have a very large wardrobe, mostly sticking to several pairs of the same or similar items. Because he can't see, he thinks he shouldn't care about what he wears, leaving his closet to mostly be determined by his classmate, Nina Tachibana, who takes it upon herself to pick out his clothing style. With Nina's instruction, Toshiro usually wears black tech wear/grunge, with leather jackets, tight fitted t-shirts, or tight pants, and chain jewelry.Similarly, when designing his hero costume most of the process was left up to Nina and the Shiketsu Support Department working together, Kai received his current hero costume of a Black, Short-sleeved T-shirt, with black, cargo pants, black boots, and a black leather jacket. The suit is made special by the compact tubes that line the entire costume which allows Toshiro to collect the Lunar Acid his quirk makes.

Kai made his debut appearance during the Provisional Hero License Exam. Spending most his time blending into the background and avoiding the UA class as much as possible he remains as a wallflower during most of this arc.
